LINK System Availability Excellence Rewarded by Global Industry Association Award

LINK Interchange Network Ltd, the transaction management company that operates the UK’s ATM Network, has had its excellence in service availability recognised by being highly commended in the ‘ITUG Availability Awards’, one of the transaction processing industry's most influential events.

LINK was awarded joint runner up, with MasterCard International, at the annual ITUG NonStop Availability Awards held in San Jose, California during October 2003.

ITUG, The International HP NonStop Users Group, awards those organisations that deliver the highest system availability. LINK's systems - the hardware and software that provides electronic transaction switching for the LINK ATM Network - reported overall switch availability of 100 percent during the ITUG reporting period.

Steve Garlick, Head of Systems Engineering at LINK, said: “The LINK ATM network plays a critical role within the UK payments infrastructure. This award reflects the total emphasis that LINK places on delivering the highest possible levels of processing reliability, security, and service availability to our customers."

The global award is significant as entrants are judged on criteria including system and network availability, change/problem management practices, and service delivery to end-user customers. The American electronic payments organisation, NYCE Corporation, was named as its overall winner.
