ATMOS provides full card management service for new National Savings & Investments card account

ATMOS - a division of LINK and the UK market leader in providing outsourced ATM management and card services - has delivered a full card issuing and management service in support of National Savings & Investments' (NS&I) new Easy Access Savings Account.

ATMOS is contracted to provide a Certified Service Bureau (CSB) solution to NS&I. The NS&I solution incorporates ATMOS' new card management system (hot card management, processing orders for card / PIN production); transaction processing and authorisations via ATMOS' Base24 software. The implementation was completed in late January 2004 when the service went live.

"Following the implementation of an outsourced card service for Bradford & Bingley plc, this reinforces the market reputation that ATMOS delivers a high quality, reliable, value-for-money card issuing and management solution for financial institutions", said Peter Flynn, ATMOS General Manager. "The service is available to all financial institutions wanting to provide cost-effective card facilities to their customers."

Customers of NS&I's new card account will be able to access cash and balance enquiries through 47,000 LINK cash machines. In addition, LINK's network infrastructure - which connects LINK to Post Office systems as part of the Government's universal banking programme - will enable cardholders to use 38,000 Post Office® counters to make cheque and cash deposits, check their balance and withdraw their cash, making a total of over 85,000 service points. The Easy Access Savings Account is being offered in place of NS&I's Ordinary Account, a passbook-based method of depositing and withdrawing cash.
