National
Savings & Investments becomes 51st Member of the LINK
Cash Machine Network
LINK has announced that National Savings
& Investments (NS&I) has joined the UK's national
cash machine network, bringing the total number of Members
to 51. Cardholders of NS&I's new Easy Access Savings Account
will now be able to access cash and balance enquiries through
47,500 LINK cash machines.
In addition to providing access to all LINK-branded cash
machines, LINK's network infrastructure - which connects
LINK to Post Office® systems as part of the Government's
universal banking programme - has enabled customers of the
new NS&I account to use 38,000 Post Office® counters
to make cheque and cash deposits, check their balance and
withdraw their cash, making a total of over 85,000 service
points.
Commenting on this latest development, Scott Housley, Head
of Corporate Relations at LINK, said: "The addition
of NS&I marks a milestone in the evolution of the LINK
network. Thousands of customers will now have nationwide
access to their savings accounts through all ATMs and post
offices connected by LINK.
ATMOS, LINK's outsourcing division, is also supplying a
number of services in support of the NS&I initiative
including its new card management system, transaction processing
