LINK recommends that people take the same hygiene precautions for contact with surfaces whenever they are using ATMs, spending cash, or making payments - washing your hands as soon as possible and refraining, if possible, from touching the eyes, nose and mouth.
LINK has committed to maintain the broad geographical coverage of the ATM network in the UK and to publish data on progress against this.

New data from LINK, the UK’s main ATM network, shows since lockdown restrictions have begun to ease across England and latterly other parts of the UK, cash machines across Britain have been busy with transactions up 18% and £3.6 billion withdrawn since the 12th April.
