What does the role involve? 

Working within LINK’s Commercial function and reporting directly to the Head of Data & Delivery (HODD), the Senior Project Manager (SPM) will own and be responsible for the successful delivery and implementation of assigned high value projects across the business in accordance with LINK’s Project Management Methodology (PMM) and Governance framework.

The SPM is responsible for line managing the LINK Change teams existing Junior Project Manager and supporting their continued development within LINK.

As directed by project need the SPM may be required to manage multiple vendors, disciplines and resources to ensure project risk is appropriately managed and recorded.

Responsible for leading LINK’s engagement in the Annual Release Programme with the Scheme’s Infrastructure Provider in accordance with the timelines and deliverables established within the existing service delivery contract.

Duties include:

  •  Through a risk focused approach of leading projects and change initiatives, support Operations, Information Security & Technology, Change and Business Support Teams across LINK.
  •  Ensure that all agreed project deliverables are completed to quality, on time and to budget; and that all risks, issues and dependencies are recorded correctly, managed appropriately and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders via the correct channels.
  • Establish and lead regular project update and coordination meetings to ensure all individual project participants and stakeholders are informed of progress and next steps.
  • Ensure that all project documentation defined within the PMM is completed and coordinated with the Programme Management Officer (PMO), and that all Governance stage gates are adhered to correctly.
  • In support of LINK’s Change Governance structure, provide project status and progress updates to LINK’s Project Management Delivery Board (PMDB).
  • In support of LINK personnel leading change initiatives across the business, the Senior Project Manager, in collaboration with the PMO and Senior Business Analyst (SBA) will provide project management subject matter expertise and guidance on LINK’s PMM and its accompanying documentation.
  • Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders across the business to enable the Change Department to provide support including facilitation, tracking and reporting on projects.
  • Support the annual review and updating of LINK’s PMM incorporating structures, standards, processes, documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain assigned processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant accurate and complete.
  • Lead the review of key project deliverables with client stakeholders and senior management decision-makers as applicable within the PMM framework.
  • Work collaboratively within the Change Department function to apply knowledge and experience and incorporate an in-depth understanding of business implications to define plans and identify solutions that address complex business problems. 

What will I need to know?

  • 8-10 Years’ experience in Project Management (preferably within a Finance or Information Security & Technology Environment).
  • Familiarity with business and operational principles.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and team management capabilities.
  • Corporate and IT Change knowledge a benefit.
  • Annual Release change management experience a benefit.
  • Developed data analysis and reporting.
  • Third party project supplier management experience highly beneficial.
  • Writing high quality project and technical documentation and processes.
  • Appropriate business and/or technical qualification(s) supporting the above experience areas.
  • Current Project Management qualification i.e. Prince2 Practitioner, PMP etc.
  • Demonstrable Project Management experience of leading change initiatives through the full project life cycle: initiation, planning, budgeting, scheduling, design, development, implementation, testing and training.
  • Understanding of project governance frameworks within a fast-paced business environment
  • Ability to work with and respond flexibly to evolving business priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in capturing, logging, analysis and interpretation of data from resource management, budgets, risk, schedules, change control.
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills with demonstrable experience in producing high quality reports and communications across multiple stakeholder levels.
  • Demonstrated capability in collaborative problem solving, decision making, sound judgment and assertiveness.
  • Developed ability to work co-operatively and supportively within the Change Department (PMO / Business Analysis / Project Management)
  • Payment Systems and/or financial industry or IT experience beneficial
  • Experienced in using MS Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, Technical Management Software essential.
